Book review: DK Essential Managers

DK Essential Managers : Information Technology
by Steve Sleight
Published by Dorling Kindersly (ISBN 0-7513-2788-3)

Seems to be aimed at middle-managers wanting the basics and owners of small companies thinking of investing in IT.   Covering the basics of computers and of the Internet, it includes chapters on outsourcing, and e-commerce.

This one of a range of mini-books (around 70 pages) and, like all Dorling Kindersley books, is extremely well written and designed. If you have used computers in a business environment for any length of time you will likely find it too simplistic. However, for the target market, it is well worth it. Certainly I’ll be looking over the other ‘Essential Managers’ titles.
