Thursday 24th August 2006: Lost requests, moved to ward
*** Diary index ***
Hmmm!
The ultrasound department apparently have no record of Dr Schultz requesting more immediate kidney scans and are stubbornly sticking to the pre-arranged outpatient appointment on September 6th. Clearly a life threatening disease is not a matter for worrying about, eh!
Some idiot doctor (with two others in tow) toured the ward around teatime…
Heart attack. He can go home.
The guy looked like kak!
Heart attack. He can go home.
The guy looked like was 80 if he was a day and looked rough with it!
Kidney failure. He can go home.
Family site, I won't print my reply!
I tell you, it was like an exercise in statistics - we've discharged three more patients, aren't we wonderful. The fact the two heart attack patients could of died on the way home is immaterial. I don't know about the other two but I wasn't about to be discharged by some pig-ignorant doctor who didn't even have the common decency to acknowledge me, let alone inquire about my health…
Moved to ward K3 - not impressed
Transferred to ward K3 about 11am. The staff, while polite, appear disorganised and unmotivated. They seem indifferent to my queries regarding the ultrasound scans.
Started monitoring fluid balance (drink in, water out…)
Can't seem to get (daily) blood taken, despite instructions by the consultant for this to monitor the creatinine etc. One nurse, when I reminded her, brushed me off saying, It only needs doing once a day.
While this is true it is 9pm now and I'm still waiting for it… Not that I enjoy the blood-letting, but if it is necessary, it should be done, eh!
Utterly disgusted with Whiston's K3 staff as it stands. Seen by no doctors at all, barring a student doctor interested in one of my other conditions as it is likely to appear on his upcoming exam papers. I don't mind this, but it just seems to highlight the case.
